Gillies Hospital is a safe environment where children are nursed by staff experienced in paediatrics. We care about your child’s comfort and well being. Sometimes, it is a good idea to visit the hospital with your child before an operation. It can help your child feel at ease with the surroundings. We are happy to make special arrangements for one carer to stay with a child while he or she is in our hospital overnight. A Lazy-boy chair is provided or a bed may be available if patient numbers allow. All rooms have shared ensuites and towels and bedding will be provided along with meals and refreshments. If you would like to do this, please ask about the charges associated with these arrangements. If you are looking after one child in hospital, either in Day-stay or overnight care, we recommend you do not bring other children to hospital with you or get another carer to accompany you. This leaves you free to provide special comfort for your hospitalised child. Gillies Hospital does not provide crèche facilities. A cot, high chair and buggy are available on request. |
